The service from the staff was outstanding, with immediate assistance when I needed to change my room. The hotel features beautiful decor and comfortable public spaces. A lift would have been appreciated, especially for access to the upper floors, as lugging luggage up the stairs was a challenge. Breakfast times could be restrictive, especially for early departures.

I had a lovely stay at the Bedford Hotel. The location in Tavistock is perfect, just a short walk from shops and restaurants. My room was clean and well presented, with the added bonus of being able to see the car from my window. The breakfast was excellent, offering a good variety. The staff were all friendly and helpful, especially Zoe at the front desk, who was very knowledgeable about the area. The only downside was the parking fee, which felt a bit steep considering the cost of the room. some areas could use a refresh, as parts of the decor seemed a bit dated. the overall atmosphere was charming, and I would definitely return for another visit.

Perfect for a family celebration
We had a lovely afternoon tea which was just divine, the service staff were bright and attentive, making the day feel special. Also the atmosphere was spot on, they really went out of their way to ensure everything was just perfect for my father's 80th birthday.
It wasn’t exactly inexpensive, but still worth it for the experience.

The hotel's location in Tavistock was superb, making it easy to explore nearby shops and restaurants. The dining offered was good, though the atmosphere left a bit to be desired. The room was comfortable, yet some maintenance could elevate the experience further.

missingWrote a review on 12 Juncozy roomcharming viberelaxed spaceoutdated decor
A cozy room with a decent view, despite its size limitations, gave off a charming, homey vibe. Proximity to local attractions made exploring easy, while the bar area offered a relaxed space to unwind after a long day.
The room's decor left much to be desired—worn furniture and a stained carpet suggested it could use a refresh. Noise was an unwelcome guest, with creaking floors and background commotion interrupting any chance of a good night's sleep. Dining was a letdown as well. the venison main dish felt insufficiently crafted, and my partner found the fish cakes overly fishy—which isn't ideal, especially when they work in food service. The atmosphere of the restaurant felt a bit off with a bustling party overshadowing what should've been a pleasant meal.

Central location makes it easy to explore the area. No lift to upper floors made carrying luggage a hassle. Charming gardens provide nice spots for relaxation. Had issues with creaky floors disrupting sleep at night. Great dining experience with well-presented meals. Perfect for hiking enthusiasts with nearby trails.
