Bedford Hotel - Tavistock (Devon)

This place suits me perfectly, offering free wi-fi, a cozy bar/lounge area, and helpful staff. They once guided me to the best spots for currency exchange, which I still remember. I highly recommend it and will return this Easter.

Had excellent experience, overall top quality and pleasant place.

The location was very central, very close to local amenities, the centre, the restaurant. The room with 4 poster bed.

The suite is airy and spotless.

Comfortable Stay with Good Dining

The staff were cute, and the meals were good-especially the perfectly cooked vegetables. Accept the offer for help with luggage. It's worth it!

Lovely bar area for pre-dinner drinks and a fantastic dinner experience. We had a super meal, well-presented and perfectly cooked.

Superb location, friendly staff, our room was very clean with a lovely air bath.

All was perfect.

Very comfy beds, an electric kettle, iron and ironing board, and television were a nice touch. The location was unbeatable, relatively close to Sir Francis Drake. Moreover, it's short walk to Tavistock town centre as well as a palace.

I found the hotel pleasant and in an excellent location for many activities such as walking on the moors, visiting tourist attractions and ther was even an excellent sports centre close by. The shops were very good in the town which was easy walking distance from the hotel.The staff were attentive, smart and very friendly. The food was very good and the breakfast was excellent. The whole experience was was very pleasant and I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone.

great location but some noise from events

The staff provided really good service, always attentive. The air bath in our double room offered a wonderful touch of luxury.

The Friday and Saturday night events resulted in minor noise .

The room was a good size with modern decor and the ensuite bathroom was very nice too. Very clean with tea & coffee making facilities, trouser press and everything else you would expect for a comfortable stay.

The bed, unfortunately, was uncomfortable and lumpy. A new mattress wouldn't go amiss! No plug sockets either side of bed. The breakfast was dreadful. As my Husband put it, not worth getting out of bed for! Was not cooked fresh to order, came out looking as though it had sat under a hot plate for too long. Very disappointed and expected better for the price we paid. Were charged for a newspaper we didn't order, but was removed from bill when mentioned to receptionist!

Used as base for walking in local area

Amazing hotel with free wi-fi, a bar/lounge area, and helpful staff. They assisted me with local info during my first stay. I recommend enjoying the delicious breakfast. I'm coming back for a holiday!
